A love story that began with a swipe right.
After breakups, countless dates and more than a few left swipes, Heloisa and Anthony finally found each other.
What stood out to Heloisa from their very first date was Anthony's thoughtfulness. He had chosen one of her favorite restaurants and was waiting for her with a bouquet of flowers. A simple gesture, but it revealed something about the man she was getting to know.
No unnecessary drama. Just the reassuring feeling of being understood, valued and cared for.
Their relationship grew through carefully planned dates, shared values, a similar vision for the future and a natural sense of ease together. They love traveling, hiking, spending time with their pets and making each other laugh. The ordinary parts of life are often what make a relationship extraordinary.
Their wedding was not the beginning of their love story. It was the celebration of everything that brought them to that moment, and the beginning of the next chapter.
IIThe ceremony
A historic chapel by the Chesapeake.
The day began at Our Lady Star of the Sea, a historic Catholic church near the waterfront in Solomons. Rather than a large, imposing church, Heloisa and Anthony chose intimacy and character, a sense of place that kept every eye on the promises being made and the people gathered to witness them.
One of the most meaningful moments was the Presentation to Mary. As part of this Catholic tradition, the couple offered a flower to the Blessed Virgin Mary, expressing their devotion and entrusting their marriage to her intercession. Moments like this are why we love documentary filmmaking: meaning lives in a gesture, a pause, a prayer, the way two people look at each other.

IIIThe celebration
Tuscany, without leaving Maryland.
From the chapel, the celebration moved north to Running Hare Vineyard, where Tuscan-inspired architecture rises above the vines. It was a fitting choice for a couple who wanted their film to feel cinematic and atmospheric, told through the beauty of the place as much as through close-ups.
So we told it the way the day unfolded: wide establishing frames of the villa and the vines, architecture framing the two of them, guests moving through the spaces, and the light shifting from afternoon into evening. Beautiful venue footage should always serve the story. The purpose isn't to show where a wedding took place, but to preserve the feeling of being there.

IVThe details
Two traditions, one sweet wish.
Some of the loveliest details carry a story beyond their appearance. Heloisa and Anthony brought together two traditions associated with sweetness, good fortune and the life a couple begins together. Elegance doesn't need excess: a thoughtful favor can tell a story about family, culture and the hopes a couple carries into marriage.
Bem-casados
“Well married”Traditional Brazilian wedding sweets, often wrapped and given to guests as individual favors. Their name roughly translates to “well married”, the most fitting wish a wedding could share.
Jordan almonds
Confetti, given in odd numbersTraditionally offered in odd numbers as wishes for health, happiness, prosperity, fertility and long life. Bitter almond inside sugar: the sweetness and the challenges of a life shared.
VThe music
An evening you could hear.
A live string trio from Two Rivers Chamber Music filled the celebration with an elegant atmosphere, moments experienced as much as seen. Live music gives a wedding film a texture no soundtrack can add later, because it was really there.
Heloisa and Anthony didn't want their day turned into a performance. They wanted to experience it: celebrate with family and friends, hear the speeches, share their first dance and enjoy the evening together.

- Make time for the settingIf the vineyard and its architecture matter to you, leave a little breathing room in the timeline for portraits and establishing shots, without taking you away from your guests for long.
- Plan around the lightSunset moves through the year. Shape your ceremony and reception schedule with your creative team, especially if outdoor portraits or aerial footage are priorities.
- Plan the music on purposeLive strings are beautiful at the ceremony, cocktail hour or first dance. Confirm performance times and talk about how live music will be captured.
- Ask about drone permissionsAerial footage depends on weather, airspace, safety and venue approval. If it matters to you, raise it with your filmmakers early.
- Let traditions breatheA Catholic ceremony, Brazilian customs, Italian family traditions: give them room in the timeline so they happen naturally, not rushed.
- Plan the transferWith a ceremony in Solomons and a reception in Prince Frederick, transportation and timing between the two shape the flow of your whole afternoon.
Always confirm current venue policies, access and event requirements directly with each venue and your planner.
A film that brings you back to how it felt.
At Fine Art Wedding Film, a wedding film should do more than document the order things happened in. For Heloisa and Anthony, that meant a cinematic approach built around atmosphere, composition, movement, music and genuine moments: a dramatic, visually led film rather than a recap of close-ups, long speeches or interviews.
We begin every wedding by learning what matters most before the day. Some couples treasure the speeches. Others want religious traditions, cultural customs, live performances or an extraordinary location preserved. Led by Desmond and Vera, a husband-and-wife filmmaking team, our films combine documentary observation with cinematic storytelling: the milestones, and the quieter moments that give a day its character.
Choosing a Maryland wedding videographer? Ask these.
- How would you describe your filmmaking style?
- How do you balance documentary moments with cinematic imagery?
- How do you approach religious ceremonies and cultural traditions?
- How do you capture natural sound, live music and the atmosphere of a reception?
- Who will film and edit our wedding?
- What can we expect from the finished film?
Look beyond a reel of attractive shots. Can you sense the relationships, the atmosphere and the emotion? Does the storytelling feel intentional, or does every wedding follow the same formula? The best fit is a filmmaker whose work moves you and whose approach lets you be present on your wedding day.
