We filmed this day from Westin Tysons Corner all the way through to the last dance at The Barns at Wolf Trap, and we left with full hearts and probably some confetti in our camera bags.

St. Mary of Sorrows is one of the most beloved Catholic churches in Northern Virginia — and the most sought-after in the Diocese of Arlington for weddings. Its historic church, built in 1860 by Irish immigrants who came to Fairfax to work the Orange and Alexandria Railroad, carries more than 160 years of faith and community within its walls.
For Megan and Brian — celebrating their Irish heritage on St. Patrick's Day — there could not have been a more meaningful place to exchange vows. The connection between this church, built by Irish hands on Virginia soil, and a St. Patrick's Day wedding feels less like coincidence and more like intention.
What made the ceremony unforgettable
Remembrance Candle
A candle lit in memory of Megan's father — present in spirit throughout the entire day. One of the most tender moments we have ever been privileged to film.
Blessing of the Blessed Mother
A beautiful Marian ritual — Megan presenting flowers to Our Lady as a prayer for her marriage and her family. Quiet, sacred, and deeply moving.
Three Readings
Three readings woven into the Mass — each one chosen to reflect the faith at the centre of Megan and Brian's decision to marry and to model a strong marriage for their six children.
Letters Exchanged
Megan and Brian exchanged letters before the ceremony — private words read in the quiet before the day began. We filmed those unscripted moments of emotion so they will never be lost.

The Barns at Wolf Trap is unlike any other reception venue in Northern Virginia. Two restored 18th-century barns — a German barn and a Scottish barn — were relocated from upstate New York to Wolf Trap National Park in 1981, rebuilt using only period-accurate block-and-tackle methods. The hand-hewn beams are original. The weathered exterior walls show over 200 years of history. The performance stage inside has hosted world-class artists for decades.
For a fun, party-forward wedding with 170 guests, a dance floor built for celebration, and a couple who described their vibe as pure joy — The Barns was perfect. The wooden beams overhead. The lofty ceilings. The stage ready for the DJ. The grounds of Wolf Trap National Park stretching out beyond the doors.
And on St. Patrick's Day — with the green and the gold and the laughter of six kids watching their parents dance — it was exactly where this story needed to be told.
The Moments That Made This Day
We film observationally — quietly, without direction, without pulling couples away from their guests for posed moments. What we look for is what is actually happening. And on this day, what was happening was extraordinary.
